Fulfilled Dreams

Rhys' Dream

Oh, the Joy of Mascots!  Not every child is built for rides—and Rhys’ family discovered that on his dream come true trip. For Rhys, the magic wasn’t in the roller coasters—it was in the smiles, the singing and dancing, and meeting his favorite characters!

Lincoln’s Dream

Growing up with a Chiari Brain Malformation often means spending too much time in the hospital. Linc remembers these stays well and remembers just how boring that was for him. Now 11, this young man wanted to share his once in a lifetime dream come true and his passion for gaming with the other children who spend too much time in hospital rooms with the gift of gaming. Alberta Dreams was able to make Linc’s dream come true with the help of GameStop, Secure Entertainment, Adrienne NG, Sage Print & Sign, and the Wolf Pack Warriors. Thanks to their generous donations and gifts in kind, Linc was able to give 2 mobile custom gaming stations – one with a PS5, and the other a Nintendo Switch, preloaded with some of his favorite games to both the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Thank you Linc for sharing your dream, your kindness will impact many more children spending time in Alberta hospitals.

Farrah's Dream

Born extremely early, at just 24 weeks, Farrah loves the outdoors and though she is mostly non verbal it is easy to see just how much she loves camping with her family and all of the new friends she is meeting around the province while they are exploring. Most of all Farrah loves to play on her very own bed with all of her stuffies in their amazing new tow behind RV. Her brother’s enjoy watching movies and playing with play dough when the weather is not great, dad loves the convenience of being able to just pack up the kids and the essentials and get to the closest campsite available and mom is enjoying the quality time they finally have and watching her children forming new life long bonds together. Thank you to Field of RV Dreams (https://www.fieldofrvdreams.com/)for helping this family find the right RV and making their pick up so fun and memorable. Keep Calm and Camp On Farrah and your Alberta Dreams Family! We can’t wait to hear all about your new adventures and the amazing lakes and campsites you get to visit.

Ellie’s Dream

The past year has been challenging for this lovely family of 4. Ellie has struggled to get her seizure disorder under control. With multiple surgeries and changes to her medications, her trip to Disney World this past winter was a welcomed distraction. Ellie loved the Safari at Animal Kingdom and all of the rides. Her sister loved the Avatar ride, mom’s favorite memory is getting soaked on the Jurassic Park ride, and dad’s favorite was the Simpsons ride. Ellie and her sister experienced so many firsts on this trip that they will never forget and the time together as a family was nothing short of magical. Alberta Dreams was grateful to be a part of this dream come true. A special thank you to the wonderful volunteers at Give Kids the World Village (https://www.gktw.org/)for making their experience extra special. They loved the Mayor’s birthday party, celebrating Halloween, the dance party, balloon animals and the magic shows.

Maverick's Dream

Maverick’s Super Mario Dream Came True!  What better way to celebrate Maverick’s love for Super Mario than a visit to Super Nintendo World, where you can step right into the game? For Maverick and his brothers, the highlight of their week at the incredible Give Kids the World Village was definitely Epic Universe!

Owynn’s Dream

Despite living with severe Crohn’s, Owynn’s passions for new experiences, adventure and learning knew skills in the kitchen were elevated this past year with his dream come true. Thanks to a huge team effort with Alberta Dreams – Harjeet Mehdwan Singh and the team from NAIT – Culinary Arts Program, Chef Sean O’Connor with Fox Burger and Knifewear Edmonton for helping us to curate a truly once in a lifetime experience. Owynn enjoyed a day filled with mastering knife skills on his new beautiful knife donated by Knifewear and learning to make the best burgers in town under the skilled direction of Chef O’Connor and the instructors at NAIT. Owynn especially enjoyed the Bacon Pepper Smash burger and the Buffalo Chicken Burger.

Ariane's Dream

Living with Dandy Walker Syndrome affects every aspect of Ariane’s daily life. She is non-verbal, relies on a wheelchair for mobility, and is tube fed. But despite the challenges, she loves to be outdoors camping with the rest of “The Happy Campers”. Tenting was a struggle but they loved it so much that they made it work. Alberta Dreams was thrilled to be able to make camping easier for this amazing teen and her family with a new tent trailer this spring. Ariane and her family have already been out this year camping and loved their new home away from home. Her mom was thrilled that she no longer needs to worry about keeping Ariane warm enough and dry enough. Grandma loved having a real bed off the ground, real bedding instead of sleeping bags, and not needing to layer up at night. Most of all Ariane love being high off the ground with windows that open up to let in all the light and fresh air that she can peak out and talk to her friends through. Keep warm and dry Ariane, and camp on!!!

William’s Dream

Living with Clathrin Light Factor Disorder I, gross motor, speech and cognitive delays can make life challenging at times but when you have new BFF it can make all the difference. Alberta Dreams was ecstatic to be able help give William the independence on the farm that he so deserves. Feeding cows and fixing fences with his dad will never be easier. A special thank you to Cody Brett and 7 Bar Ranch for helping this amazing family find their perfect match in a ranching partner for this enthusiastic teen. We cannot wait to hear about all the new adventures these 2 get up to over many more years to come.

Owen's Dream

An EPIC Dream Come True for Owen and His Family!  This past spring, Owen and his family experienced an unforgettable adventure at the incredible Give Kids the World Village, along with visits to Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks. From jaw-dropping rides at Universal Studios (where Owen discovered he does not love big drops!) to endless ice cream and cookies at the Village, relaxing pool days, and magical moments in the parks—every detail at GKTW was thoughtfully designed for families traveling with medically complex children. This trip gave Owen and his family more than memories—it gave them confidence to travel again, easing fears and anxieties about leaving home. One of Dad’s favorite moments? Driving back to the Village after an amazing day at Epic Universe, looking in the rearview mirror and hearing Owen whisper to himself: “BEST DAY EVER.” 💙 Thank you to Give Kids the World Village who helped make this dream possible!

Trudy's Dream

Living with Spinocerebellar Ataxia limits Trudy’s mobility and she often enjoys spending time reading and drawing in her room. Alberta Dreams was so excited to help to create the unicorn themed bedroom Trudy had always dreamt about. Trudy loved receiving all of the new and exciting packages as each specially curated item arrived to their home and checking each item off of the lists of surprises to come. Some of her favorites were the special projector to cast the night sky on her ceilings and walls, her new comfy trundle bed and special bedding for sleepovers with her sisters and cousins and the special unicorn craft set she could create with at her new desk. A special thank you to Trudy’s parents for the amazing painting of her walls and assembling the many pieces that all came together to create a magical space for Trudy to feel truly loved and deserving of all of the wonderful things life has to offer.

Fiery's Dream

Firey’s medical journey was unexpected and traumatic and left this amazing now 9 year old boy with multiple amputations and relying on prosthetics to help him walk. His humor and resilience was awe inspiring for us at Alberta Dreams and we were thrilled to send this young boy and his family for a trip of a lifetime to Disney World Florida. Thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers at Give Kids the World for helping to make Firey feel extra special during his stay at the village. This was the family’s first vacation in over 10 years. Firey went on every ride possible at Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios and Sea World during his stay. He especially loved the Spiderman ride and the Avatar rides. Alberta Dreams hopes this lovely family enjoyed the time together, the memories they created, the shopping they did and fun restaurants we don’t have in Canada that they got to eat at.

Quin’s Dream

Quin was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease at just 6 years of age. She loves tackle football and since there was no girls league for tackle football, at 12 she joined the boys league where she loved to play defensive back, line back, and receiver. At 14 she under went a kidney transplant but after her transplant Quin could no longer play contact sports. Now 16, Quin is living her best life as a transplant recipient; she still loves football and enjoys watching the NFL. Last November Quin and her mom took a trip of a lifetime to Miami Florida to have her dream come true to see the Miami Dolphins play live. They loved the tailgating, the huge stadium and the craziness of an NFL game in person, they even made it on to the jumbotron. While in Miami they also enjoyed Miami beach, drove the 7 Mile Bridge and down to Key West, did some shopping, had a brush with fame, and enjoyed the sunshine and quality girl time they spent together. Quin felt rewarded by this experience, was thankful to have been able to share this with her mom and it was nice to have something good in her life as a result of something so difficult.

Kailey's Dream

When life brings unexpected challenges, having a space that feels safe and comforting can make all the difference. Kailey was recently diagnosed with lupus nephritis, which limits many of the things she loves to do. When Alberta Dreams learned about her dream for a “She Shed” of her very own, we couldn’t wait to make it happen! Thanks to the incredible support of our community and generous partners, we created a cozy, vibrant space just for Kailey. Her favorite feature? A convertible couch that turns into a bed—perfect for giggling, reading, and spending time with her sister. She absolutely loves the calming blue and purple tones and the freedom to relax and play in her special spot. A heartfelt thank you to the Diane Murphy Memorial Fund, Shed Solutions, Home Hardware, and Canadian Tire for making this dream extra special.

Cameron's Dream

Born extremely early at just 26 weeks, living with Cerebral Palsy, and relying on a wheelchair has its challenges but nothing can slow down this brave 11 year old boy. We saw this first hand in the photos and stories that Cameron and his mom shared from their recent once in a lifetime trip to Toronto, Ontario to see the Blue Jays play live. A very special Thank You to Rogers for the introduction to the Jays, the Blue Jays for the amazing experience and special gifts provided at the game, and to the special family who donated the 4 best seats in the house for the game. We could not have created this trip with out you. In addition to the game, and amongst so many other wonderful adventures, Cameron and his family loved the very special visit to the HHOF and their personalized tour with Phil Pritchard and team at The Resource Centre where they got to hold The Stanley Cup and the Khan Smythe Trophy just days before being presented to the 2025 champions. We know these memories will cherished and talked about for a lifetime.

Brooklynne’s Dream

Diagnosed with GRIN 2B, 10 year old Brooklynne relies on a wheelchair for mobility so being active, playing baseball, and getting down to the beach to go swimming in a wheelchair has its challenges. With the amazing support from Southern Irrigation (https://southernirrigation.com/)and the wonderful staff at National Seating and Mobility (https://www.nsm-seating.com/)Alberta Dreams was able to make Brooklynne’s dream for the ultimate offroad adapted stroller come true this past winter. She is already sharing that amazing smile of hers showing off her new wheels at school and out and about in her community with mom and dad. We can’t wait to see what new adventures Brooklynne will be up to next!

Keagan’s Dream

13 year old Keagan was born at just 27 weeks gestation. Though he spent 82 days in the NICU when he was born, and as the healthier twin, he had a relatively non eventful childhood until 2021 when he was diagnosed a severe form of Grave’s Disease. Still struggling to maintain his levels at times and suffering from extreme fatigue he is on the road to managing his disease. Keagan, like most teens, loves gaming and Alberta Dreams was over the moon when we were able to create the ultimate teen gaming/movie room for him and his family to enjoy. With a new big screen TV, PS5, VR headsets and the world’s most comfortable couch, amongst so much more; we were excited to learn that Keagan’s favorite thing in his new gaming room makeover was “EVERYTHING” but especially the amazing super soft purple shag carpet. We hope Keagan, his 2 brothers and their parents have many fun gaming nights and movie marathons for years to come.
