Xander's Dream
🐆 A Wild Dream Come True! Snow Leopards, Safari Adventures, and Unforgettable Memories! 🌴✨
Twelve-year-old Xander is an adventurous, animal-loving boy with a big heart and an even bigger dream: to visit zoos across North America and see some of the world's most incredible animals!
Born with proximal femoral focal deficiency and fibular hemimelia, conditions affecting the development of his leg, Xander has faced significant physical challenges throughout his life. He received his first prosthetic leg at just 10 months old and has undergone numerous surgeries and treatments to improve his mobility and independence. Following complications from his most recent surgery, Xander spent nearly 13 months unable to walk independently.
Despite these challenges, Xander's adventurous spirit shines through! He loves soccer, LEGO, video games, spending time outdoors, and cheering on his younger sister at softball games. But above all, Xander loves animals, especially snow leopards!
When Alberta Dreams learned about Xander's wish to visit the world-famous San Diego Zoo and finally see a snow leopard in person, we couldn't wait to help make his Dream come true! And what an adventure it was! 💛
Xander and his family spent six unforgettable days exploring San Diego, beginning with a VIP tour aboard the historic USS Midway aircraft carrier. The highlight of the trip was a special behind-the-scenes experience at the San Diego Zoo, where Xander finally got to see his favourite animal, the snow leopard, up close! He also encountered a beautiful clouded leopard, making this long-awaited moment even more magical.
The adventures continued with a guided safari at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, bringing the family just feet away from rhinos, giraffes, and other incredible wildlife!
At LEGOLAND California, Xander explored amazing LEGO creations and enjoyed thrilling rides, including a roller coaster the family loved so much they rode it three times!
Another unforgettable experience was a private VIP tour at Birch Aquarium, where the family enjoyed exclusive behind-the-scenes activities and even met an octopus! While Xander preferred to admire their new eight-armed friend from a distance, his younger sister loved getting to interact with it!
Their Dream adventure also included relaxing at the beach and visiting SeaWorld, where the family enjoyed in-water encounters with dolphins and a beluga whale, along with an exciting orca show that left them absolutely soaked!
As Xander's family beautifully shared: "This was definitely a trip of a lifetime, and I can't express how grateful we are for these lifelong memories! I haven't seen Xander smile so much in his life!"
For Xander and his family, this Dream was about more than an incredible vacation. It was an opportunity to experience new adventures, share precious moments together, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
