Layla’s Dream

Layla started having seizures at 4 months old, was later diagnosed with a seizure disorder and diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 2 years of age. Layla relies on a wheelchair for mobility and her family for 1:1 constant care. Layla loves swimming, being out doors, visiting the zoo, the Muttart and Ft Edmonton Park. This past spring Layla’s dream to see the ocean came true with a family trip to the west coast to visit Vancouver BC.

Alberta Dreams was thrilled to arrange Layla’s adventures with help of some very special friends to the Vancouver Aquarium, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and of course Layla’s favorite, the behind the scenes tour of the Greater Vancouver Zoo where she loved the train, seeing the giraffes and feeding the hippos carrots.

Layla and her family also enjoyed visiting the beach, a special harbor tour and so much more – taking in all that this amazing city had to offer. We were thrilled to hear all about the amazing memories created along the way and to hear the confidence they were able to build with this trip and their new plans for more future travel.
