Some dreams begin with imagination — and grow into something truly life‑changing. For Hadley, what started as a love for hobby horsing blossomed into a beautiful, real‑world passion filled with courage, joy, and connection. 💕

Hadley’s dream came true with the help of Opening Gaits Therapeutic Riding Association, where she stepped into the world of real horses for the very first time. From the beginning, she was given the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of incredible horses — each one helping her build trust, skills, and confidence. One unforgettable moment? When Nigel bowed just for her. 🐎✨

Through six weeks of lessons, Hadley learned not only how to ride, but also about caring for horses, their equipment, and the bond that forms between horse and rider. She started out feeling timid and shy, but with each visit, she grew stronger and more self‑assured.

For a girl who had been searching for “her thing” — something she truly loved, alongside her brothers’ busy world of hockey and sports — this experience sparked something powerful. Being around horses lit a passion in Hadley that will continue to grow, as she eagerly looks forward to continuing riding in the fall. 💚

Despite the challenges her disability has sometimes presented, Hadley discovered something incredible: she can do this — and she is thriving. 🌈

To celebrate her dream come true, the adventure continued with a magical family staycation at West Edmonton Mall. Whisked away to the Polynesian Room, it felt like a tropical escape, complete with a jacuzzi tub featuring a stunning waterfall right in the room. 🌺🌊

Thanks to the amazing support of WEM Cares, the family enjoyed an exciting day at the waterpark, complete with a cabana and tubes for everyone — and the celebration only grew from there. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and even grandparents joined in, with loved ones traveling from out of town just to be part of Hadley’s special moment. 💐

Together, they shared laughter and thrills at Galaxyland — especially on the unforgettable and neverending swinging boat ride that had everyone laughing until they were nauseous. 🎢😄

Hadley also delighted in shopping adventures, carefully choosing thoughtful gifts for everyone she loves. From Build‑A‑Bear to Garage, Aritzia, and Summer Fridays, she explored each store with excitement — taking her time, planning each purchase, and making every choice meaningful. 🛍️✨

The family didn’t leave the mall once during their stay — fully embracing every moment together, surrounded by fun, laughter, and connection. And true to Hadley’s thoughtful nature, she even saved enough to plan a future girls’ shopping day with Mom for back‑to‑school — something special to look forward to. 💕

This dream was about so much more than new experiences. It was about growth, discovery, and finding confidence in something truly her own. Hadley found her passion, built belief in herself, and created memories surrounded by love and support.
