Dream #1270

A vibrant, joyful, and deeply social ten‑year‑old girl embraces life with a bright spirit, playful humor, and a strong desire to connect with those around her.
From an early age, her development followed a different path. By her first birthday, it was clear she required additional support, and at three and a half, she was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome after years of uncertainty. She is nonverbal and uses gestures, vocalizations, and an AAC device to communicate. While communication remains her greatest challenge, her ability to connect in her own way is evident in everything she does.
Despite these challenges, she is thriving — living life with joy.
She loves school, being around people, and sharing time with friends. She is active and adventurous, enjoying sports, outdoor experiences, and family activities. Her playful personality shines through in her love of making others smile and capturing moments on video to relive again and again.
More than anything, she loves the water.
Swimming is where she feels calm, engaged, and completely at ease. It supports her physical development, helps regulate her sensory needs, and gives her a sense of freedom unlike any other environment.
Currently, her home town only has one public pool, access to swimming is limited, making it difficult for her to benefit from the consistency she needs.
Her dream is to have a backyard above‑ground pool of her very own— a space where she can move freely, build strength, and experience daily joy in the environment where she thrives most. It would also create opportunities for connection with family and friends.
Alberta Dreams is eager to help realize this dream, removing barriers and creating a space where she can grow, connect, and simply be herself — supported, included, and free.
