Dream #1256

This incredible young girl has been living with an ultra‑rare progressive genetic disorder since infancy, Niemann-Pick Type C— a condition so uncommon that specialists across Canada had little experience diagnosing it. Early medical crises led to emergency flights, extensive testing, and eventually acceptance into a clinical trial that has become vital to slowing the disease’s progression.
Even with treatment, she faces lifelong challenges including hearing loss, balance and coordination difficulties, speech impairment, and mild cognitive decline. Yet through every obstacle, she has remained gentle, joyful, patient, and full of quiet determination.
She loves to dance, laugh with her friends, tease her brothers, watch YouTube, and enjoy special outings with her grandma. She is especially passionate about shopping, cute outfits, makeup, and skincare — all the things that make her feel confident and creative. Her imagination is bright, her heart is kind, and her resilience is remarkable.
And now, she has a dream that reflects everything she loves most.
Her dream is to take a special trip to West Edmonton Mall — stay in a fancy theme room, to wander her favourite shops, explore new beauty and skincare finds, pick out fun outfits, and spend a few days riding the water slides and roller coasters she has always hoped to experience.
For a 12 year girl who has spent so much of her life in hospitals, therapy rooms, and long drives to treatment, this dream is pure joy — a chance to just be a kid, to feel free, and to create memories that will last forever.
Alberta Dreams can't wait to make this unforgettable experience come true for a pre-teen whose courage inspires everyone around her.
