Dream #1254

Born unexpectedly at just 31 weeks, this young boy spent his earliest days in the NICU, fragile and fighting. But the complications didn’t end there. At two weeks old he developed meningitis, and by two months, uncontrolled hydrocephalus required a life‑saving V‑P shunt. At three, he received a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.
In only seven years, he has faced more surgeries and medical challenges than most adults—multiple shunt revisions, spinal procedures, tendon lengthenings, and ongoing treatments to support his mobility. Yet through it all, he remains joyful, curious, and determined.
Living on an acreage in a northern community of Alberta, he loves the outdoors—quadding, swimming, hunting, skidooing, and racing down the big hill near home. He enjoys soccer, being with his siblings, and is a bright Grade 2 student who loves math and proudly claims his dad’s poutine as “the best in the world.”
Recently, he has discovered something new that lights him up: gaming. Inspired by an older cousin, he’s fallen in love with Roblox, Mario Kart, and Minecraft. With four older sisters, his bedroom has never truly reflected who he is—but imagining a space of his own sparked excitement, confidence, and pride.
He dreams of a room that feels like his place in the world—a fun, welcoming space for gaming, play, and sleepovers with friends. A room that reflects his personality, independence, and the boy he is becoming.
Alberta Dreams is thrilled to help make this dream for an epic gaming bedroom a reality for a child who has faced every obstacle with courage, resilience, and a spirit that shines brighter than anything standing in his way.
